I have a pain in the front right thigh that started during the night. this is not the first time i experienced this. it has happened in the past and usually goes away on its own after a few hours. what could be causing this?

Right thigh pain: May be sciatica, at night is stress on the lumbar spine. Try sleeping w/ pillow under legs, May also be meralgia parasthetica M(usually associated with tingling of the anterior thigh due to compression of lateral femoral cutaneous nerve seen inheavy individuals and with tight clothes treatment is loose clothes, weight loss , gabapentin , PT ( e stim). Check for diabetes ,B12 F/u/ w/ MD

Could be muscle cram: Could be muscle cramps if goes away on their own after some times. Are you a smoker. Peripheral vascular disease affecting arteries can cause pain at rest as well as activity. There is a condition called restless leg syndrome which can cause vague muscle pains. Diabetics can have neuropathic pain . Consult your PCP
