My son was born on monday and circumcised in thursday. his penis naturally has some swelling and is a bit bruised, however the one side of his scrotum also looks very bruised (dark purple / black). is this normal?

Scrotal bruising: Penile bleeding is common after the circumcision, but bruising of the scrotum not so much. I think it would be of value to have your provider double check the scrotum. Rare, but some scrotal infections have developed and turned into serious illness.
