A member asked:

When should a person make tests to know if he is at higher risk of cancer?& what are the tests? have to cases in relatives

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Colonoscopy: Unless you have a strong family history of a particular type of cancer occurring at an early age, there is no use in getting tests, that are likely to do more harm than good. You are at an age when you should get a screening colonoscopy. To avoid cancer, abstain from alcohol, tobacco; reduce intake of meats; exercise, maintain healthy weight and practice safe sex. Wish you good health!
