I have had 2 prior c-sections. i am pregnant with my 3rd baby. is it possible as your abdomen grows that the prior stitches on the scar can start poking through? i have two small black spots that have appeared on it and it hurts to mess with them.

Possible: Most sutures for that purpose should be absorb-able. However, could been that nonabsorbable sutures were used given second section. Sounds like a possibility. I would let your OB/GYN know about the procedure.

Maybe: If silk sutures were used at your last C/section, those "black spots" may be seen. Have your OB MD pull the Operative Report from the last C/section and see if that is the case. He/she may also examine the area as well.
