Not if balanced diet: It is not possible for a normal, healthy person to consume too much protein if the person is eating a balanced diet. Otherwise, his diet would not be called "balanced." However, weight loss surgery alters a person's normal digestive system in an unnatural way. Thus, if his eaten protein is not able to get digested in his stomach, it could be considered "too much protein" in his particular case.
