Motrin, heating pad: Sinusitis may be the underlying cause of the post nasal drip and cough. If the drainage is thick, prolonged and/or associated with fever, please see your PCP. A course of antibiotics may be indicated. Most illnesses associated with congestion and post nasal drip are viral though. Motrin and localized heat may be used to relieve the chest wall pain. Please follow up.

Nasal saline rinses: Nasal saline rinses may be used to reduce post nasal drip. Monitor for fever and if the cough worsens, please see your PCP. Drink fluids and rest.
