Complex: This term describes disc material encased in bony and scarred tissue as opposed to a plain intervertebral disc. Effacment refers to impression on the sac containing fluid within the spinal canal. A neurosurgeon is best to evaluate the MRI, your symptoms and advise you about treatment options.
