Virus: This material may be some residual debris from inflammation of the upper respiratory tract, larynx or bronchial tubes. It doesn't appear to indicate persistence of significant infection if sputum is lessening in quantity or discoloration. I predict you'll have progressive improvement of symptoms so that antibiotics shouldn't be needed.
