Im just getting over some sort of viral infection, and feeling almost 100% better, but sometimes when i cough (its been phlegmy a bit) and spit it out, i see some brown speckles in the spit. what is that from? sound serious?

Virus: This material may be some residual debris from inflammation of the upper respiratory tract, larynx or bronchial tubes. It doesn't appear to indicate persistence of significant infection if sputum is lessening in quantity or discoloration. I predict you'll have progressive improvement of symptoms so that antibiotics shouldn't be needed.
