Hello i have some concern about how my 2 week old baby was treated at his pediatrician for his checkup today. is it normal for the pediatrician to pull him up from in a laying down position to his feet by just his arms? no neck support or anything

Yes: If anyone has the knowledge to assess a 2 wk old & how they should be handled it is a pediatrician. They are not frail crystal. I suspect the doc was monitoring all features of the kids movements at that time. Grandma's pre-occupation with the head flopping is more myth than fact.

Testing head lag: At this age, your baby will have a head lag and the pediatrician may have been testing this. You should support the head and neck while holding the baby.
