Have a sore throat for 6 days. have wbc count of 4.2 in last cbc. was given 875mg of amoxicillin, started today. if i have a virus instead of infection, should i worry about virus getting worse from taking antibiotic due lower wbc, lowered gut micr.

No: If viral infection, antibiotic will still help peripherally through anti-inflammatory effect and preventing possible bacterial suprainfections. It will affect your gut microbiota.
