I was recently diagnosed with shingles in my right nostril and on my nose and have been on an antiviral for 4 days. blisters are gone but there is a hardened area underneath the nostril that is solid. any help here?

Shingles: If the hardened area isn't painful, tender, draining, increasing in size or showing spreading redness, I recommend continuing your antiviral medication for a total of 10 days while observing this lesion. If no receding of the nodular lesion, have your MD examine it.

Nostril: This has developed because the virus causes infection to the mucous membranes. I would treat with a topical antibiotic cream. This will soften it and encourage it to heal. If you try to pull it out likely a nosebleed will develop.
