Not enough info yet: It is well known that smoking affects the ability of airway to fight against infections, including any type of virus or bacteria; it is affordable that coronavirus may affect more to people with chronic diseases. However, there is not a published scientific work yet that makes the exact statistic association among smoking and this new coronavirus outbreak. Anyway, the best is not smoking.

Smoking is bad !: Can't say how many smokers have died. "In a meta-analysis of studies that included 11,590 COVID patients, researchers found that among people with the virus, the risk of disease progression in those who currently smoke or previously smoked was nearly double that of non-smokers: REF: https://www.ucsf.edu/news/2020/05/417411/smoking-nearly-doubles-rate-covid-19-progression
