Basics: Macrosomia is a label applied simply when a fetus/newborn or kid is over-sized for their gestation/age. It implies that the organs are also big. If a baby is too large for the head to pass through the woman's pelvis, a c-section is routine.Babies should not go beyond 42 wks because the risk of sudden death/stillbirth becomes unacceptably high.
