A member asked:

Spotting while on contraceptives, it hasn't happened before?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

BCP ?'s : If you are on low dose oral bcp's. spotting is common, and occurs when the active pills are not taken within the hour of the previous day's active pill. Punctuality is important b/c the amount of hormones in the pill to not last much longer than 25-28 hours, so withdrawal bleeding can occur. Stop the active pills, wait five days, start a new pack, but maintain punctuality.
