Continue pill: Unfortunately, break through bleeding is a side effect of birth control pills. That does not mean that the pills is not effective in preventing pregnancy. Stopping the pill will result in a withdrawal bleeding like an menstrual period. The doctor who prescribed the pill needs to know to possibly pick a pill with different strength of hormones.
