A member asked:

Bit concerned. some doc said that earlobe creases are an 85% independent risk factor for heart disease. i have them. also had normal nst in 2009&2013, normal angiogram in 2014. should i worry? any truth to this statistic?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ear lobe: I also feel that ear lobe creasing may be a marker for coronary artery disease. The best policy is maintaining a healthy lifestyle with normal blood pressure, healthy lipid levels, no smoking, regular exercise and having occasional treadmill stress testing as you have done. However, in my many years of practice I have also seen numerous patients with cardiovascular disease who didn't have creases.
