Had an apicoectomy 8 days ago. zero pain for the first 48 hours but was pretty sore today and yesterday. already had post op. appointment. sutures gone. do i need to go back because of the pain? it's not agonizing but still very sore.

Not Necessarily: Your post op appeared normal. Let your provider know and try NSAID's for the discomfort. You had a surgery in an already inflamed area. It may take a few weeks to heal.

Surgery: An apicoectomy, like most dental procedures, is a surgical procedure that will take time to heal. Any time bone is involved at the healing time becomes protracted. Call the General Dentist or specialist Endodontist that did your procedure and report current status. As long as there's no fever, swelling, bleeding you should be OK.
