Poor prognosis!: For a tooth to need an apicoectomy, in all probability, it already has a root canal that failed. For many this is a procedure of last resort with the probability of long term success, compared to other dental procedures, being very poor. You may now have an infection. If your dds can't bring it down with antibiotics, you want to consider an extraction, probable bone graft ; dental implant!
