I have a pinched nerve in my neck and shoulder pain , should i have a mri or just a neck xray. am worried that i might have a slipped disc in my neck.?

Could be Both: Shoulder and neck pain have extensive overlap and it can be difficult to sort out. I would recommend starting with either a neck or shoulder specialist and depending on your symptoms a nerve test (emg), an MRI of cervical spine, or both may be appropriate.
