After a bout of diarrhea i sometimes notice a small speck of blood on my stool. it happens about twice a year. i have been diagnosed with hemmorhoids in the past. does this warrant a colonoscopy? im 37.

Doubtful colonoscopy: If.the blood is red (vs black) and you have a history of hemorrhoids, then the most likely cause is irritation to hemorrhoid or ano-rectal tissues. Try using moist toilet paper only, or moistened wipes instead of dry tissues. This should help prevent irritation. Topical soothing agents can also be purchased OTC at your pharmacy to decrease irritation.
