A member asked:

Can your period affect the treatment of hematuria, started my period while taking macrobid and urine is darker red, is this normal?

Hematuria ?'s: Although hematuria is common with urinary tract infection, it is not "normal" to continue as "dark red", especially if the antibiotic is working appropriately. Prolonged hematuria may come from a bladder lesion, or from primary kidney disease, so see your physician for an exam and other testing.
