Might be a boil: With a visit to his doctor, a person can get his bump diagnosed and treated. Most boils are treated with drainage of the pus inside. Antibiotics are sometimes, but not always, used after that. For boils that don't look like they are thin enough to lance through the skin, antibiotics may be used to stop the infection... and then a doctor can decide if later further treatment is needed.
