My 7 week old sleeps 7-8hrs at night without waking up for feeds. should i wake her up after 6hrs? what happens if i don't? she has a 1-2hr long nap and 30-40min shorter naps throughout the day. has gained weight steadily - 6wks weight was 5.1kg.

Be thankful: From the pattern listed it appears the kid is thriving. I would enjoy the pattern & not mess with it at all. No 5 kg kid must eat through the night. If s/he were 1-2 kg we push frequent feeds but at this point I would just hope this continues.

Sounds lucky: We (doctors, moms, dads, neighbors, etc.) all want babies to sleep through the night after they are 3 months old. Parents with babies who sleep through the night are lucky parents. As long as a baby is past the newborn stage, is healthy, and is growing fine on his measurements, parents don't need to wake up their sleeping baby at night and don't have to wonder if he is sleeping too much.
