Avoid ethanol: It is not safe to add alcohol (ethanol) to one's brain after a concussion. Alcohol is toxic to living cells, and may cause changes in blood pressure and in blood vessel tone (the tightness of the blood vessels) in the brain and body, as well as change the metabolism of neural cells (thus alter thoughts and perceptions) until the body rids itself of the alcohol. Best to let the brain rest safely.
