Generally yes: Throat symptoms can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold or other virus (Tamiflu may be used for flu), allergies or irritants, sinusitis, stomach acid reflux, etc... Usually, a person sees the doctor if the throat is bothersome, recurrent (as in this case), or doesn't go away quickly, mainly to review the timeline to see what might be a cause.
