A member asked:

My daughter who is 12 going on 13 months is not eating well. she eats a few spoons and then hogs the food in her mouth until she spits it out. she does not finish any meals recently.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Avoid food fights: A parent can call her pediatrician to ask about such symptoms. A normal 12-13 month old will drink and eat when she is hungry. So, parents must make sure she is hungry at the beginning of breakfast, lunch, and dinner (very important concept). However, toddlers may NOT be able to chew foods very well, so parents should offer properly mashed or chopped foods. Avoid food fights.
