Gastric reflux maybe: A bitter or acid taste could be related to your digestive system. If the teeth or gums are showing signs of excess stomach acid your dentist may suggest being seen by your physician.

Supplements: Hard to say exactly what is causing your problem. Could be saliva or need to have your gums checked, just in case. Ask your dentist to rule things out. Could even be the type of toothpaste you use. Could consider switching brands and see what happens.

Possible GI/stomach?: If you have been to the dentist and eliminated the possibility of the bitter taste being a dental or gum related issue, go to your doctor and have a possible GI problem evaluated.
