Meds, talk therapy: The treatment of anxiety and depression is usually medication, psychotherapy (talk therapy), or a combination of the two. A class of medications called SSRI's (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) is usually one of the choices. One's primary care physician can check for any other medical problems, help with anxiety and depression, as well as refer to a psychiatrist.
