Not recommended: Getting intoxicated is not recommended, specifically if not used to drinking. Peer pressure will be hard to avoid, but I would suggest using the medicine you take as an excuse for drinking rather social quantities, in moderation, for your celebration. Otherwise SSRI’s, such as sertraline are not to be used in patients drinking alcohol on a regular basis.

Do not do it: Alcohol is a poison that never did anybody any good, ever, so stay away from it. It is doubly bad to drink while on the medication you are taking and the reason you on the medication in the first place. By drinking, you are asking for trouble. Wish you good health!
