I started to show signs of tonsilitis on friday afternoon and it has been increasingly clearer since then. i would like to know how long it will last and if i will still have it over christmas?

Doctor can check: Christmas is only 3 days away. A person with tonsillitis can be checked for strep throat at her doctor's office today. If there is strep, antibiotics are needed (usually amoxicillin). After 3 days or so, she should be well enough to enjoy Christmas. If her symptoms are viral and start improving soon, she should be feeling better by Christmas. However, she may still be contagious.
