Had laparascopic surgery over 1 week ago and rash all over abdomen for the past week. tried hydrocortisone cream for 7 days and it's only gotten worse and itchier. i think it's from whatever they used to clean prior to surgery. any other suggestions?

Allergic reaction: You may be correct that this is an allergic contact dermatitis in view of itching. You will probably require a prescription strength corticosteroid ointment and/or corticosteroid oral agent for effective relief. Find out what agent was used so that it will be on your recorded and avoided in the future. Your MD or dermatologist can evaluate and prescribe for you.
