No permanent fix: Gover's is a condition with unknown mechanism and thus the treatment will mainly be symptomatic. If needed, topical hydrocortisone may be used daily (not so much for the facial area) to control it. If itching is the issue, topical anti-itching (cortisone-free) cream may be of help.

Severity dictates Tx: Minor outbreaks can be controlled with prescription strength topical cortisone creams. More troubling eruptions usually clear up after taking Accutane or tetracycline pills for one to three months. If these fail or the outbreak is severe, PUVA phototherapy treatments, antifungal pills and cortisone injections are alternatives.
