No: A barium swallow is not for that type of issue. A barium swallow is just drinking a liquid that shows up on x-ray so that the doctors can see the outline of the inside of the gut, from the esophagus to the small bowel. If there are big enough leaks in that part of the gut, the barium will be seen leaking out. Blood vessel issues are not seen in such a gut study.
