A member asked:

Are there any risks for a 55 years old male to sprint if otherwise healthy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Planning a race...: People have to train for the activities they plan to do. A person in his 50's is a middle-aged adult and should have routine care from his primary care doctor. He can tell his doctor what he plans to do and ask if anything needs to be checked. Our bodies get older as each day passes by. We can't just suddenly decide to sprint 100 meters or 500 meters with no recent training and expect no injury.
