Doctor can help: After trying to get rid of ear wax with water or another liquid, there may be a glob of wet mushy wax that is still inside. If the mushy glob seals the canal wall-to-wall, the person's hearing gets blocked. A primary care doctor can look inside the ear canal and usually get the remaining wax out... either with a curette, or by flushing the ear with water, or with both methods.
