A member asked:

I had 2 miscarriages this year and now my gynecologist has been prescribing provera and fatimid to me all the time with now luck. had my last progesterone level blood tests and it came back at 3.4. what is the optimal progesterone level?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Miscarriage ?'s: The cause for the miscarriages may need investigation in the form of a hysterosalpingogram (HSG) which may show intra-uterine abnormalities (fibroids, adhesions, small cavity, etc.). If there is a progesterone deficiency, supplementation should occur after pregnancy, if ovulation is occurring regularly. The HSG may also remove tubal obstruction, a leading cause of infertility.
