Doctor can examine: Two weeks is a newborn, which means a pediatrician should examine baby. Babies can easily catch infections from other people. If an "older baby" has just a runny nose, without much fussiness, without any high fever, nor other worrisome symptoms, then parents may leave the nose alone. A newborn can have more serious illnesses and not reveal serious signs... which is why an exam is generally done.

Exam: Ensure that the baby is receiving an adequate volume of formula and is well hydrated/ normal number of wet diapers. Newborns often have congestion during the first weeks of life. Monitor for fever and please see your PCP. She may have an infection or post nasal drip and cough.
