Swelling: Or edema is probably the most common cause, among many others. Another common cause, self limited, is sustained mechanical pressure to the involved area. Peripheral neuropathies as well as few neurological diseases can cause focal numbness as well. Talk to your doc about your symptoms.

Not enough info!: Did you injure the area? How long has the problem gone on? Are you on any medications? Sometimes, like after a shot (injection) or laceration, the skin can stay numb for up to a year then get better. There are other causes of numbness as well, with many other causes, both minor and major. Please see a doctor to find out why you have humbness.
