Some possibilities: A person in his 20's with chest pain should go to the ER to check his heart. If very mild symptoms, his doctor's office may be an option. That means not waiting at home to see if it turns into a bad problem (better safe than sorry). Lung problems include pleurisy, pneumothorax. Esophageal problems include reflux, esophagitis. Heart problems include rhythm problems, pericarditis, heart attack, etc.
