Ask one's doctor: A hot scalp may be due to scalp heating, such as from the sun or a heat lamp, due to fever from some infection or inflammation, due to increased blood flow to the scalp, or due to nerve sensations that are misinterpreted as heat when there is no actual heating going on. Evaluation for this should be done by one's primary care doctor, who can refer to other doctors if needed.
