Hypertension/allergy: Typically, decongestants like Pseudoephedrine should be avoided if high blood pressure is not under control as it can aggravate it. However, the new generation antihistamines, nasal steroid sprays (most effective), singulair (montelukast) and allergy shots/injections can all be used by persons with high blood pressure. One exception: beta-blocker medications shouldn't be taken by patients on allergy shots!
