My 5 year old daughter, swallowed a silvery necklace.... is this something i should be extremely worried about this? is there something i should do?

Maybe/not: If it did not get hung up in her swallow tube (she can drink fluids okay) it made it into her stomach. If it made it there it will likely travel through her gut in 4 days & end up in her stool. Sometimes feeding her stewed okra can form a congeal around the foreign material & make passage easier. If she has colicky belly pain in the next few days have her seen.

Watch for signs: Watch for signs of respiratory difficulties, gasping, choking, drooling, stridor or wheezing. If any changes occur, please see the Emergency Department right away. If it is in the gut, it will most likely not cause further problems. If the content of the necklace contained lead, please discuss with your pediatrician, along with safety at home.
