A member asked:

From what i read, my 3 month old might have ger. he is challenging to feed, sometimes regurgitate after feeds and arches his back and seems in pain. he weight gain is as expected. he is mostly happy but sometimes irritable. should he see a doctor?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

if you wish: GER is rather common in infants & usually peaks intensity at 3-4 mo while declining after they begin to sit up/disappearing by a year. In a kid that is otherwise thriving/growing well there is little done other than modifying feeds. A doc could help with this. Medications & other advanced measures are reserved for those with persisting pain/poor weight gain.
