A member asked:

My 18months old baby gets red and swollen after getting a mosquito bite. is this normal n what can i do to stop it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Confusing post: The expected reaction to a such a bite would be a small mound of swelling at the site. The bite injects a foreign protein & reaction to it will vary. Your best treatment is avoidance of the bites with bug repellents, bug zappers. Your post does not accurately depict the size or location of what swells/turns red or whether the whole kid does. Actual treatment would vary with the size of the problem
