Needs doctor again: If a child has fevers, diarrhea, or vomiting, and the symptoms persist 6 days after visiting the doctor, such a child needs to see her doctor again. Infections are usually better, or on their way to being better, by 6 days. The doctor will recheck to see if the illness might be something else, and also to see if the child can be ok at home for several more days or needs hospitalization.
