A member asked:

Back pain after first sitting for root canal treatment (swollen cheek and severe pain that didn't subside with prescribed meds). is it a side effect of the anesthesia or something else ? whom should i consult regarding it ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Symptoms: Back pain may simply be postural. Swelling probably due to the infected tooth. antibiotics may take 2-3 days to start bringing down the swelling. Take antibiotics until they are all gone, don't quit just because you are feeling better. If symptoms do not begin to subside by 3rd day, contact a root canal specialist, an Endodontist.
