A member asked:

How do i treat a stubbed toe and swollen foot? and how do i know if its fractured or not?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Examination: An xray of the toe and foot would be a good idea to determine whether the toe and/or a metatarsal bone has been fractured. I'm concerned that the foot is swollen. If the injury is only a fractured toe, treatment is only strapping it to the next toe. Swelling of the foot itself is not usual with only a fractured toe. Elevate your foot and apply cold compresses in the meantime.
