Doctor can examine: For bug bites or bumps looking like bites, people often take oral Claritin, Zyrtec, or Benadryl to block histamine that causes itching. Putting hydrocortisone cream 2-3 times a day on the bites for one week also helps. For more itch relief, some people use an anti-itch gel such as "Itch-X" on the bites. Itch-X has an anesthetic to numb the itch. If bites are growing or painful, a doctor can check.
