A member asked:

Can anxiety affect an spirometry test?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sure: Anxiety affects everything in life when the anxious person has to do or say something. That is why the person needs to consistently have her anxiety controlled and minimized... so that she can properly do all the things she needs to do in her daily life. Spirometry is performance-based, so even a non-anxious person can get odd results if not inhaling, exhaling, or blowing the right way.
