A member asked:

M am asking this again, as i didn't get a answer before. i have copd. had spirometry test and my dlco was 45%. my breathing is good . is 45% real bad?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Need more info: Need the clinical context that it was done in.An isolated DLCO abnormality May not be clinically significant but may make us suspicious of pulmonary HTN but many other causes with other findings.Anemia, pulmonary Embolism,COPD,restrictive lung,Cardiac,CHF,drug toxicity. With COPD and the rest normal with no symptoms, need no smoking and follow to prevent further damage. Are you Short of breath?
